Community Participation & Social Support

A Mentor (Support Worker) will come to your home or meet you somewhere in the community.
For CORE funding, community access can be greatly used by having someone alongside you.
Community Mentors can support in the following ways:
- Make and attend appointments
- Get you through cleaning, shopping, events
- Medication prompting
- Help you find and participate in social activities, community events
- Spend time with you in your hobbies
- Help you talk to others and service providers
- Be there to help through social barriers such as anxiety, depression, social cue reading etc.
- Help you practice your new techniques
- Help you stay on task
- Help you be understood and help you understand
